Lymphoblasts Author : Dr Pierre Hébert |
Description: population of round cells consisting mainly of lymphoblasts. These cells have a diameter of 15 to 20 micrometers. The cytoplasm is scant and basophilic. The nucleus is round and larger than that of a mature lymphocyte. A nucleolus can also be seen in the nucleus. A normal or hyperplastic lymph node contains more than 50% mature lymphocytes. The nucleus of a mature lymphocyte is similar in size to that of a erythrocyte. |
