A 9 year-old Standardbred mare was presented for uterine discharge, and a history of infertility of 2 years duration. The cytologic examination (1000X original magnification) of the fluid revealed numerous extracellular and intracellular yeast-like organisms within neutrophils. Mycologic examination revealed Candida zeylanoides as the causative agent. |
