Morphology: leucocytes (red arrow) vary in appearance according to urinary density. In this microphotography (original magnification 500x), it is possible to see the nucleus as well as cytoplasmic membrane. The erythrocytes (blue arrow) are also influenced by the urinary density. For a normal urine, the number of leucocytes per field at 400x should not exceed 5. |
