Chlamydia sp.

Wright's stain, 500x

Chlamydia infections in avian species are systemic such that inclusion bodies containing this organism can be found in many tissues. This image shows Chlamydia sp. inclusions in a lymphocyte on a blood smear. These inclusion bodies, which resemble those of Ehrlichia sp., are composed of small elementary bodies grouped in small, grape-like clusters.
