The wingless-related MMTV integration site (WNT) gene family encodes a large number of secreted signaling glycoproteins that are involved in many biological processes including embryonic development, adult tissue homeostasis, maintenance of progenitor cell types and cell fate determination and differentiation. WNT signal transduction can occur via at least three distinct pathways, commonly referred to as the WNT/Ca2+, planar cell polarity and WNT/CTNNB1 or canonical pathway.

Using cell culture and transgenic mouse models, my laboratory is interested in studying the functions of these three pathways in the hypothalamic-pituitary-gonadal axis.
