Diagnostic Laboratory

Since 1999, the RCMS laboratory provides support for the need & specific requirements of the industry. The diagnostic laboratory is currently in the process phase of accreditation by the American Association of Veterinary Laboratory Diagnosticians (AAVLD).

Services :

You have a specific problem to solve; we can surely help you with…

IN MICROBIOLOGY (STANDARDIZED METHODS)

  • Detection and enumeration of different microorganisms from food (food/feed), faecal matter, water and environmental samples
For example: Salmonella, Campylobacter, Clostridium, lactic bacteria, E. coli, enterococcus, Listeria, Yersinia, Staphylococcus…
  • Antibiograms
    • Discs or dilutions (MIC)
  • Antibiotic detection (animal feed, kidneys, eggs)

IN SEROLOGY :

  • Develop, validate and/or use of new diagnostic tools to detect contaminated animals or samples
  • ELISA Salmonella (IgG, IgM, IgA)
  • ELISA Yersinia enterocolitica
  • Specific service (food-borne pathogens)
  • Titration of Salmonella specific antibodies in egg powder

IN MOLECULAR BIOLOGY :

  • Detection of virulence and antimicrobial resistance genes
  • Serotyping by PCR method (Listeria)
  • Salmonella detection by PCR
  • Molecular traceability (PFGE, MLST, HRM)
  • Characterization of complex ecosystems (PCR-SSCP, T-RFLP)

IN CONTROLLED CONDITIONS

  • Several experimental infections models in pigs have been developed (Salmonella, S. suis…)
  • Efficacy trials of control strategies of various pathogens level 2 animal facilities (probiotics, prebiotics, mash, organic acids, essential oils…)
  • Benefits: studies of several parameters with precision – REPA-pet store / simulation of ground conditions

A PERSONALIZED APPROACH: TAILORED AND SENSITIVE AND ADAPTED TO CUSTOMER`S NEEDS

  • Sampling plan development and application
  • Expert-service provide advice or solutions to specific industry requirements Ex: suspicion of Salmonella, Listeria, Campylobacter contamination / comparison of genetic profiles from various sources (PFGE)
  • Protocol optimization
